As to the personal information that I receive (cities in which community members lives, what members like to do) that information is kept offline.  I gather and save the information so that I can ensure that the content of the site is relevant to the community's needs.  
In other words, I want to make sure that members in Mountain View with teenagers are made aware of activities in that area that they might enjoy or that members in San Francisco know which are the $1 days for the San Francisco Zoo.
