Doodle4Google  2011

It’s the annual Doodle4Google where K-12 grade students are invited to submit their original doodles for inclusion on the Google homepage.  This year’s theme is "What I’d like to do Someday …"


Prizes will be awarded not only for the winning doodlers but also to the winner’s school or after school program.   New for 2011, parents can register their children and the inclusion of the Girl Scouts and the Boys and Girls Clubs of America.


Doodle4Google Registration

Registration closes at 11:59:59 pm Pacific Time (PT) on March 2, 2011, and entries must be postmarked by March 16, 2011.  The winning doodle will be featured on our Google.com homepage on May 20, 2011.  

Doodle4Google Prizes

National Winner - College Scholarship
The National Winner will be awarded a $15,000 college scholarship to be used at the school of his or her choice, a trip to the Google New York office for an event on May 19, 2011, a laptop computer, a Wacom digital design tablet, and a t-shirt printed with his or her doodle on it. We'll also award the winner's school or After School Program a $25,000 technology grant towards the establishment or improvement of a computer lab or technology programming. The National Winner will also have his or her doodle featured on the U.S. Google.com homepage.


Three National Finalists - Laptop Computers
Each of the other three National Finalists will win a $5,000 educational grant to be used at the school of his or her choice, a trip to the Google New York office for an event on May 19, 2011, a Wacom digital design tablet, and a t-shirt printed with their doodle on it.


Forty (40) Regional Finalists
Each of the other 40 Regional Finalists will win a trip to the Google New York office for an event on May 19, 2011 and a t-shirt printed with their doodles on it. All 40 Regional Finalists will also have their doodle displayed in a special exhibit at the Whitney Museum of American Art.


Four Hundred (400) State Finalists
Each of the other 400 State Finalists will receive a Doodle4Google t-shirt, official winner's certificate, and be featured on the Doodle4Google contest web site.


Two (2) After School Program Awards
This year, we are giving out two After School Program Quality Awards that each consist of 20 netbook computers and a $2,500 grant. One award will go to a
Girl Scouts of the USA troop and the other award will go to a Boys & Girls Clubs of America center that has the highest number of doodles among the 400 State Finalists. In the event of a tie, we will consider the highest cumulative quality scores for the tied submissions. Each of the other 400 State Finalists will receive a "Doodle4Google" official winner's certificate and will be featured on the Doodle4Google contest web site.
